First vet appt…
We had a (virtual) vet visit yesterday… Fang is apparently still a bit mad at me… π€£π€£π€£ #thatface
Before 2020, I lived a very different life, a single life that required a significant amount of business travel. Then pandemic. By the time I got my landlord to agree to let me have a pet, all the shelters were empty and I ended up with a tiny, toothless feral cat I named Fang. Our journey was complicated, two feral creatures figuring out how to live with each other and I captured it with this blog. Sadly, he passed in September of that year and in my grief, I impulsively adopted a puppy. Taking care of him was the baby step that led to raising a puppy which was the baby step to making the move to the Hudson Valley which led to me choosing ceramics as my next chapter. So naming the studio after Feral Fang seemed fitting. Below is the journey that started it all.

Four weeks ago, this 5.5lb toothless, feral lunatic arrived… We’ve come a long way since Thunderdome… He not only lets me touch him, he comes out for scritches at meal times… He’s clearly found the joys of a good bed… And he still has zero idea what catnip or any of the toys strewn all of the place are. But…
Turn your sound on, we have first head scritches today!!!
I canβt believe itβs come to this… I’ve set up my Nest to see what he does at night…
Fang is not too certain I should be doing yoga after quiz Friday… I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but he’s only 5.5lbs/2.5kg. So much judgement in such a small package… π€£π€£π€£
This little ear makes me sad. I’ve learned a lot about feral cats since Fang arrived and apparently because they are wild animals, the general advice is not to attempt to take them off the streets because they can’t be tamed, stay away from humans, hide during the day and are difficult to socialize. So the approach is to grab…
Another druid circle of cat fur from last night… I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever actually see him or just his fur trails…
He’s starting to have a (not under the sofa) night life?
Dinner! In the dining room! Well, near the dining room… I’ll take what I can get…
Finally got a snap of that toothless smile! Ok, not exactly smile but still cute… πππ
