Trip to the pet store today to get a litter mat (yes, maybe I’m still recovering from losing the great litter box war..) and a few new toys. Ok, maybe a lot of new toys…

This is completely off topic but peony season is so short and they’re my favorite so I just had to share these beauties!

We had a bonding moment today – and I got to brush the living crap out of him… he actually loves being brushed, he purrs and makes biscuits. And it’s gotten hot so I think he was grateful for it….
Purely selfishly, I love getting close to him but I’m much more excited about the furball reduction…

His fur is so incredibly fine, it looks like it has a permanent blur filter on it…

Waiting impatiently for his meal… I swear, those looks of his… he slay me…

Just finished lunch and was working on the sofa when he walked over to stare at me – a first! I’m a realist. I knew he didn’t come to see me but thought, he came because I’m sitting where his bed lives! Nope. He came to show me he wants my leftover chicken…. 🤣🤣🤣

A couple of weeks ago, he started playing at night. I saw snatches of it on the Nest (yes, I still creep on him at night with the camera…) and I can hear it from the bedroom but today we hit a milestone – he played during the day with me in the room! 🎉🎉🎉

The Nest is back in the bathroom to confirm Fang fully acknowledges the detente we’ve reached so I can return the soft things to the floors… the bath mat is bait… sigh… 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Ok. Fang wins. I concede. His new, open litter box arrived today. I have to accept he’s just never going trust the top entry one, I think he’s too scared of being trapped. Deep rooted trauma…

After the shoe incident, he’s been sending me messages by peeing on soft things on the floor – the bath mat, a towel I left on the floor, his floor cat bed – that’s when I knew it was really bad. So yes, this means I have three different litter boxes in the place right now. THREE. For a 5.5lb cat… 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Sigh. The top entry one just looks so much better in the bathroom… #canthaveeverything

Anyone need a litter box?

Yes I’ve set a Nest up in the bathroom… yes, that’s two litter boxes… and yes, that’s a step to help him get onto the big litter box (maybe it’s too tall for him).

I know… I’ve officially lost my mind. But look! He’s using it! He’s using both actually. We’re gonna make this work…. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

New development, he’s starting to come out in the evenings and hang out with me in the room… good grief he loves that scratching post!
